Riverfront Park: Denver, meet Betsey Johnson, Gabriel Conroy
In the second installment of the popular Riverfront Park Summer Fashion Series, local designer Gabriel Conroy wowed the crowd with a beautiful couture collection in an “aperitif” runway show.
Then, after noshing on food from Zengo, catching up with friends and some serious people-watching, guests turned their attention to the main event — a parade of Betsey Johnson fashions. “You always know when you’re looking at Betsey Johnson clothes,” a guest remarked at the show’s onset. The collection was, in fact, signature Betsey. Tutu skirts, bad girl at the prom dresses, wild prints, skulls and crossbones and lots of leggings took center stage.
If you love Bestey clothes (and, yes, we do), you were enamored with the sweater dress (it’d be a shirt on us) emblazoned with a giant lobster, the cute cropped sweaters with pandas or eyes and lips on the back or the dress that simply read “Sex Pot.”
The final Riverfront fashion show of the summer takes place Aug. 20 with clothes from uber-cool designer Robert Rodriguez and food from Tamayo. Click here for more information.
