Flavors of the week: Camp cookies, Garnet Hill clearance sale

Each week, we spotlight a favorite ice cream and a super-sweet deal. This week (July 26 – Aug. 1):

The ice cream: Want to please the entire family before school picks up again? Scoop up a serving of your favorite vanilla ice cream with a Chocolate Chip-Pretzel Bar Cookie. I tried the summer camp-inspired recipe from the August issue of Food & Wine, and the treats disappeared before our eyes.

The bargain:

I always get the Garnet Hill catalog in the mail, and I always flip through it like it’s a magazine. Sweet, romantic styles, cute shoes, fun accessories. But the best time to shop it is during their clearance sales. I fell for this adorable tree belt (now $29 from $42) and tissue tunic (now $24 from $44). And I’m stocking up on these sweaters for my daughters (now just $9 from $28).
