We’re sweet on … The Brazzle

By Lesley Kennedy

Let’s say it once and for all: Showing your bra straps just isn’t cute.

So, how do you wear a spaghetti strap tank or dress — and a bra — and keep things chic? Jenny Salimi may have found the answer with the Brazzle, a set of sparkly clips that aligns your straps and looks like part of the outfit.

Salimi, a Colorado native, graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in business. A mortgage broker for 7-plus years, she started an online boutique a few years ago featuring customizable tanks, T-shirts, hoodies and capris. In June, she launched thebrazzle.com, and she’s hoping the Brazzle ($15) will become a household name.

“I always new I wanted to own my own company, but never dreamed it would be something I invented,” she says.

Salimi came up with the concept of the Brazzle about 10 years, when she was still in college.

“I was always seeing the common wardrobe malfunction of the bra straps and garments – tank tops or dresses – not aligning. It’s so tacky,” she says. ”For some of us, we can’t go without a bra. Wearing a strapless bra is so uncomfortable and usually ends up around your waste. Having a built-in bra is even worse, giving the illusion of a uni-boob. You know what I’m talking about! Thus, the brazzle was created.”

Salimi says response to the Brazzle has been “spectacular. … I’m just trying to help womankind one bra strap at a time!”

The Brazzle keeps bra straps in place.
