CONTEST – Are you a Cougar? Roar at kickoff party Wednesday!

Our friends Dahlia Weinstein, MiniBar‘s Bill Ward and InDenverTimes.com are calling all Colorado Cougars and Cubs (you know who you are) to enter the 2009 Queen Cougar & King Cub Contest.

Here’s the deal: Cougars (35-year-old-plus females on the hunt for much younger, energetic, willing-to-do-anything males) have become a pop culture phenomenon. So, this contest is seeking gorgeous gals, ages 35 and up, and handsome young men (cubs), ages 21-35. Online votes will determine the hottest cougar and cub.

Submit photographs of your favorite cougars and cubs. (One photo submission accepted for each contestant.) If you’re an older beauty or a young stud, you can enter yourself. No nude wildlife scenes, please. Distasteful photos will be disqualified.

Go to http://cougarxing.indenvertimes.comfor rules and submission instructions. Everyone can vote for their favorite cougar — and her potential prey until a week prior to the season finale of the new Courteney Cox TV show Cougar Town. (Date TBD.) Vote early and often. The queen and king, and their courts, will be crowned during a royal ceremony at MiniBar in Cherry Creek North the night of the Cougar Town season finale. Fun prizes — and surprises — will be presented to the winners.

Now, get ready to party. To kick off the contest, head to MiniBar, 222 Columbine St., Wednesday (Sept. 23). Festivities start at 6 p.m., and, of course, the premiere of Cougar Town will be shown (at 8:30 p.m.). Patrons will receive one complimentary “Cougartini Cocktail” or “Baby Blue Shot.”

The party will continue at MiniBar once a week on Wednesday nights through Cougar Town’s first season. Drink specials will be offered and cougars and cubs can enter the contest every Wednesday night. (You can also enter online:
