New York Fashion Week is just around the corner — shows officially start Sept. 10 — and Denveralamode will be in the Big Apple to bring you sneak peeks of what will be in store for spring 2010.
Check in with us reguarly, as we post runway reviews, offer live tweets, spot celebrities and trends and bring you insider multimedia coverage of fashion’s must-attend event.
This season, more than 100 designers will be showing their newest collections at the tents at Bryant Park and other venues throughout the city.
What shows are we looking forward to? Well, we always heart Betsey Johnson, whose theme this year is “One Night Stand” and promises “booze, babes and rock ‘n’ roll” — at the Plaza Hotel. Oh, yes, we’ll be there.
Michael Kors is also on our list. After covering Fashion Week for more than nine years, the Project Runway judge’s show is always among my favorites. Ditto Rebecca Taylor — love her feminine, romantic looks. We’re excited to see Jill Stuart, Tadashi Shoji, Gottex, Tibi, Dennis Basso and Pamella Roland. And, of course, Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without seeing new looks from Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and Anna Sui.
Custo Barcelona also promises some Fashion Week magic. The label’s theme is “Lowxury,” described as sustainable luxury, sophistication at the right price, affordable glamour with a twist of irreverent humor. A new print widely used in the garments shows a dressing table with necklaces, ballet shoes and a chandelier. Sounds nice and girlie, just as we like it.
