NY Fashion Week, day 6 – Pamella Roland

NEW YORK — Fashion is artistry, and, designer Pamella Roland went straight to the source when it came to finding inspiration for her spring 2010 collection.

Roland turned to Georgia O’Keeffe and her bright floral combinations to create classic clothes that bring to mind the artist’s paintings.

Colors like poppy red, freesia, peony, yellow and green joined gold, copper and floral jacquards. Fabrics ranged from chiffon to tweed. Roland’s pieces are elegant, but she manages to add a little edge to them with playful ruffles, giant sleeves, cut-outs and sparkle. Here’s a look.
