NY Fashion Week – ‘Idol’ judge Kara DioGuardi on the new season

American Idoljudge Kara DioGuardi showed the world that she has a hot bod at the end of last season, when she upstaged “Bikini Girl.” But, after chatting with her before Pamella Roland’s spring 2010 runway show, we can say she’s even better looking in person. Dressed in a gorgeous navy asymmetrical Roland dress, we asked her to dish on the next season of Idol. 

On new judge Ellen Degeneres: “I think she’s gonna be a great new edition. She has a very positive energy. She’s a big believer and fan of the show and she is a force to be reckoned with. She has star power and I think that contestants really need to learn that that is a commodity and it’s necessary when they think about recording music. It’s not just about the voice. You have to remember that you need to have star power.”

On the auditions: “Every guest judge brought something different to the table and they all had different perspectives. I would say in every city we found a contestant who could be in the top 12 – or the top 13 – who knows how many there’ll be.”

Any new Bikini Girls? “No, no, no, no. I think everybody retired their bikinis. …Or maybe they didn’t. There’s one particular thing you’ll just have to watch to see.”
