Baby weight is so last season. Follow me as I try to get in shape and shed a few pounds following Denver trainer Anne Parker’s TRX Mini Boot Camp.

Can't wait to get back outside!
So, after a few off-weeks — a trip to New York, a week of rain-outs — I was oh, so ready to get back at it.
Last Saturday morning was one of those perfect Colorado fall days — a small group of us met for a make-up workout with Anne Parker’s TRX boot camp, and it really felt good to be pushed out of my comfort zone again.
Anne was out of town last week, so subs took us through our routines. Monday, was hardcore. There was a big turn out that day, so we partnered up. Group A hit the TRX for 45-60 second intervals, while Group B performed everything from shuttle runs (killers!) to sit-ups to push-ups and planks. I actually stunned myself when I did push-ups — real push-ups, not on the knees — for almost the entire 30 seconds. And I held the plank the whole time, too.
On Wednesday, I managed to do the formerly impossible butt raises and hamstring crunches for the entire intervals, too. I even ran most of the way around Wash Park before class. Well, jogged. Slowly. But still.
The dieting took a hit. I ate at Benny’s. And The Fort. But, what are you gonna do?
My sister came to visit this week, and she said she definitely could see a difference. Cleaning out my closet, I was thrilled to see some clothes I hadn’t worn in years now fit again. It’s been slow, but steady, and isn’t that the kind of improvement that lasts?
