Rising Star Gala to feature top Colorado designers

Here’s an event Denver-area fashion lovers should not miss: Fashion Group International of Denver’s Fashion by Design Rising Star Runway Gala.

The fifth biannual signature event of FGI salutes emerging new designers in Colorado in a number of categories, and will unveil 2009′s Rising Star.

Held this Friday (Oct. 23) from 6-10 p.m., at event sponsor Mercedes-Benz of Westminster’s showroom, the gala is a benefit for fashion scholarships and educational outreach programs

There’ll be silent and live auctions, a runway fashion show featuring the winners, gourmet Gourmet hors d’oeuvres, wine and more.

David Jacobs, founder of Spyder Active Sports, will receive the first- ever Star Legend award at the fifth biannual event that raises funds for fashion student scholarships throughout Colorado and education outreach programs. The Rising Star committee chose Jacobs because of his innovative contributions to the sport of skiing, the ski industry and the fashion industry.
