Calling all creative types: This looks like a really cool class. Check out the release:

“Wearable computers are becoming more mainstream with designer solar handbags that charge your cell phone to clothing that functions as a video game joystick. There are also wearable computers, eTextiles, that make everyday life easier such as Lynne Bruning’s ‘wearable cane‘ and the EyeWriter Development Team’s EyeWriter which allows the paralyzed to draw with their eye movements.

Many of these projects begin with the Do-It-Yourself innovation before the large companies promote research and development. The question for many DIY’ers is where to get supplies, how to begin and what is already available?

Denver’s Club Workshop is pleased to announce that Lynne Bruning, award winning textile artist and innovator of the “wearable cane” Bats Have Feelings Too! will teach an introductory class to answer these questions and provide hands on information about the components and construction of eTextiles on 5 December 2009.

The class will provide Aniomagic’s basic eTextile sewing kit, eTextile examples from Lynne’s extensive collection, time for hands on time saving technique demonstrations and discussion of individual projects.”
