What women in Denver are wearing now
We ask local scenesters to photograph and tell us about their recent looks.

Looks from Jamie Angelich.

Looks from Jamie Angelich.

Jamie Angelich has spent years volunteering her time to local fund-raising events, organizations and charities. A founder of the Volunteers of America Guild, she’s served on numerous boards and committees, and always manages to look chic and elegant while doing so. We asked her to photograph seven of her outfits over the first two weeks of November. Here’s a look at her fashion life.

1. On her way to volunteer at the library at Kent Denver, where her son, Adam, is a junior, Angelich wore Victoria’s Secret jeans and a leather jacket from Mariel in Larimer Square, “where owner Denise Snyder really makes it fun to shop!” She’s also sporting a white cashmere sweater from Neiman Marcus, and the purse is by Paige Hamilton.

2. On this day, Angelich had just hosted a birthday lunch for a girlfriend at Jing.  “I love Jing restaurant in the Landmark, and Lawrence always takes care of ‘the girls’,”  she says. She’s wearing Ralph Lauren black and white tweed pants, a black top by Doncaster (“I work with Janyce Wald on Yale at I-25″), a Burberry scarf and a Judith Ripka necklace.

3. Angelich wore this ensemble to attend the announcement reception for the new building campaign for Denver Hospice. She wore a brown tweed Dana Buchman suit “with a scarf from Alan’s Wardrobe in Cherry Creek which unfortunately is no longer there,” with  David Yurman jewelry.  “I don’t know why I bought the suit,” she says. “Probably because of the fit. Fit is everything to me, and so to jazz it up a bit, I like to add scarves.”

4. On this day, Angelich was heading to Comedy Works to go over the logistics of The Comedy Night, benefiting the Shining Stars Foundation which  she would be chairing the following night.  She’s Levi’s 518 super low, boot cut jeans from Sheplers, paired with a fun T-shirt and light-weight cover, both from Nordstrom, along with her favorite Carlos and Santos boots. “I am from Texas,” she says.

5. Angelich this chic outfit to the annual Brass Ring luncheon, which she chaired this year. “What a great day it was,” she says. “I wore this cashmere blend Ralph Lauren soft gray with speckles of silver jacket — from Saks, of course, because they were our presenters — with the pants to match in a charcoal gray.” She wore comfortable Tory Burch black heels and carried a Ferragamo purse. ” I work with Kathy Rinker in the Fifth Avenue Club and she is great,” Angelich says.

6. Angelich wore this fun St. John’s sweater with Anne Klein pants to a cocktail  “holiday” party for the Le Bal de Ballet. The purse is from a Christmas boutique, and the black cashmere cape with fox trim is from Saks Fifth Avenue. “The ‘vintage’ earrings were a gift from Dawn Denzer,” she says. ” She wore them every Christmas!”

7. Here, Angelich is off to the Key to The Cure event. She wore a Doncaster white ruffled blouse, a black Armani jacket, black suede and stretchy riding pants, tall black suede boots and a Heidi Lasher pin. The purse — fox with a porcelain and rhinestone handle and rhinestone pin — was designed and made by Andreas Furs in Cherry Creek.

Jamie and I have been friends for over twenty years and I can tell you she is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. Her loving heart is there for all of us. Thank you for shining a light on this special lady.
