Nicole's winning photo
Score one for Colorado! Nicole Fox, the Louisville red-headed beauty, was named the first petite winner of America’s Next Top Model.
Quirky, shy and simply gorgeous, Fox, who is 5-foot-seven, was a forerunner all season long — taking beautiful pictures and impressing the judges with her high fashion poses. The other girls didn’t really like her, but we thought her outsider story was sweet. Not every model needs to be the girl next door. Geeks can be pretty, too!
The runner-up was Kentucky farm girl Laura — who we also grew to adore. That accent! Those eyes! The clothes lovingly sewn by her grandmother! Hey, as long as Erin was out, we were happy. And, let’s hope Miss J. learned his lesson with those ridiculous expanding sleeves he sported. We don’t need to see those again. Or Mr. Jay’s short-shorts. Or lime green jacket, come to think of it.
Fox’s prize includes a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics, a contract with Wilhelmina Models and a cover and six-page spread in Seventeen magazine.

congratulations to Nicole. I was rooting for her.
You’re right about Ms. Jay. Those clothes were idiotic. It makes him look like a clown. Hard to take him seriously.
