Make your New Year's fitness resolution last

Planning to line up at the door of the gym at 12:01 a.m. on Jan 1 to fulfill your New Year’s resolution? Then, the first installment of our exclusive new video series is for you. Anne Parker, a certified personal trainer, starts us off this week with her number one tip for beginning a fitness program: Find a coach.

Over the next few weeks, Parker will talk about staying with that program, maternity workouts and more.

If you’re beyond the New Year’s resolution stage, Parker will discuss some of the latest trends in fitness and offer tips on how to spice up your existing workouts.

For those just starting out, she recommends finding a qualified trainer who can help you set realistic goals and guide you in your fitness program — whether you meet with him or her once, or consult regularly. A good coach — and as Parker says, even Michael Jordan needed a coach — can help keep you on track, injury free and lead you to reach your goals.

So, grab some wate and lace up those shoes: It’s time to get fit
