Gwyneth Paltrow shares her detox cleanse
I’m admitting it: I’m jealous of Gwyneth Paltrow. She with the lithe limbs, the enviable hair, the ex-boyfriends like Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck. The gazillion dollar bank account. The endless supply of designer clothes. Living in London to a rock star. That gig touring around Spain for a food show. You get it, right?
But, while I’ve certainly wished my frame were as tiny as her’s, I’m starting to have second thoughts. Because, in her latest issue of Goop, she lets us in on some of her eating habits. And, I’ve gotta tell ya, I’d rather keep those extra 10 pounds around than suffer through her favorite five-day detox plan.
Called LOVE* (*live.organic.vegan.experience) from New York-based Organic Avenue, Paltrow shares a typical day on the cleanse:
Wake up with a trio of elixers (including tasty chlorophyll and aloe vera juice). Mid-morning, chug some green juice (juiced cucumber, spinach and celery). For lunch, mix up a batch of Lemon Lime Shakes with citrus, coconut, cucumber and avocado. Afternoon snack is another yummy green juice. And dinner? A simple salad with raw, organic veggies — or even edible flowers!
