Grammy Red Carpet Report – Gaga for Gaga
The Grammys rock. Not because they play music. Actually, we’re never very impressed by the music nominated at the annual awards show. Seriously, Hall & Oates for best pop performance? And how on earth can the Silversun Pickups be considered new artists? That’s just weird.
No, the Grammys rock because musicians feel the need to show off some edgy fashion looks on the red carpet. This ain’t the buttoned up Oscars, here. These are rock stars. Or aging pop stars, anyway. They rock, they tour, they aren’t really allowed to play things too safe.
Our favorite look for the night? Lady Gaga in — count them — three looks from Giorgio Armani Prive. Glamorous, and over-the-top and sensational. We’ve come to expect nothing less from the dance queen du jour.
Lady Gaga looking a little bit Glenda the Good Witch.
Lady Gaga ice skater meets Lady Liberty.

Lady Gaga making us green with envy.
After Gaga, our next top looks came from Taylor Swift (even though her Stevie Nicks duet was a disaster) and Carrie Underwood (does her stylist ever get it wrong?). Check ‘em out:
Taylor Swift in Kaufman Franco.

Carrie Underwood in Georges Chakra
And, now, for the dresses that so, much like Hall & Oates, did not rock:

Britney Spears. Oh, dear. Carrie, can Brit borrow your stylist, please?
Ciara, what is going on here? We’re so confused.

Snookie. No Bumpit, but still no class. We love it, though!
