Denver hair stylist Matthew Morris, owner of the Matthew Morris Salon and current contestant on Bravo’s “Shear Genius,” is backstage at New York Fashion Week. Creating some of the hottest looks to hit the runway, he’s sending us exclusive photos and reports from behind the scenes.
The show: Organized by supermodel Naomi Campbell, this Fashion Week charity event featured some of the industry’s most famous models — Campbell, Karen Elson, Helena Christensen and Angela Lindvall among them — and catwalk appearances by designers Donna Karan and Diane von Furstenberg and celebs Kelly Osbourne, Chris Brown and Alan Cumming.
The sold-out event (tickets went for up to $150 a pop) also became a tribute to Alexander McQueen, who died from an apparent suicide earlier this week. Rachel Zoe styled the show and hair was headed up by Orlando Pita.
Starting next month, designs from the show will be sold on net-a-porter.com. Money is to go to women and children in Haiti.
Here’s a look at shots Morris snapped backstage, as well as some looks from the runway.
