My Fashion Life – Bradley Joseph, owner Silver Spur Marketing
By Lesley Kennedy
Forget the stiff, conservative suits. When it comes to business dress today, at least for Silver Spur Marketing owner Bradley Joseph, it’s all about the blazer.
“Blazers are like the new suit,” the Denver native says. “I think you’re able to make a quicker connection in a business casual environment.”
Joseph, who has worked in marketing for more than 17 years, says items from Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren and Sheplers make up most of his wardrobe.
Call his sense of style Western Light — or Urban Cowboy.
“I just think the business environment has gotten so casual that you can wear clothes that you like to knock around in, but are still presentable,” he says. “I don’t know that many people in my sphere of influence who still wear a suit and tie to work anymore.”
We asked Joseph to track his outfits for a week. Here’s a look inside his fashion life.
- Silver Spur Marketing owner Bradley Joseph describes his style as “Western light.”
- 1. Sunday: Sheplers blazer and shirt, Eddie Bauer slacks
- 2. Monday: Ralph Lauren blazer, Banana Republic scarf
- 3. Tuesday: Stetson hat, Kuhl jacket
- 4. Rockmount Ranchwear shirt, Eddie Bauer pants
- 5. Thursday: Ralph Lauren blazer and sweater
- 6. Friday: Lucky shirt and Banana Republic scarf
- 7. Saturday: Saks Fifth Avenue shirt and Banana Republic pants
1. Sunday: Joseph wore this blazer and shirt from Sheplers and Eddie Bauer pants to services at Holy Ghost Church. “It’s an ultra suede jacket and it’s indestructable,” he says. “I practically sleep in it. Plus, it cost $125 and it fits better than my $450 blazers.”
2. Monday: For a lunch meeting at Whole Foods in Cherry Creek, Joseph wore this Ralph Lauren corduroy patch blazer and Banana Republic scarf from the women’s section. “My uniform is a blazer and pants,” he says.
3. Tuesday: Joseph wore this outfit to visit a client. “That’s a Stetson hat from Sheplers, a cowboy shirt from Rockmount and the jacket is a Kuhl from REI,” he says.
4. Wednesday: At a kickoff party for CultureHaus at MiniBar, with Silver Spur creative director Jill Hodges, Joseph wore Eddie Bauer slacks and a Rockmount Ranchwear shirt.
5. Thursday: Visiting client SaddleUp! Foundation in Parker, Colo., Joseph wore a blazer and zip-up sweater, both by Ralph Lauren. “I don’t know why, but their sizes just fit me really well,” he says.
6. Friday: Meeting with a potential client at Mezcal restaurant, Joseph wore a Lucky waffle print shirt, topped with a Banana Republic scarf. “I don’t want to wear a heavy overcoat, so if I can wear a chunky blazer with a scarf it can get me through these cool days,” he says.
7. Saturday: At a celebratory birthday brunch, shown with pal Holly Kylberg, at a Pappadeux, Joseph paired a silk shirt from Saks Fifth Avenue with slacks from Banana Republic. Kylberg is wearing a dress by local designer Gabriel Conroy.
