Jean Paul Gaultier – from Target to Paris
We really didn’t want to make a Target run this morning … the Glendale store is always so annoyingly crowded on weekends and stuff we want always seems to be sold out. But, in the name of Jean Paul Gaultier, we got the kiddos dressed and headed to Tar-zhay to get a gander at the designer’s new collaboration with the mass merchandiser.
Good thing we didn’t wait a day. We overheard clerks saying it had been a zoo all morning — and we were there at 10:30 a.m. We were hot on the hunt for the trench coat practically every magazine has been featuring, but we weren’t that into it in person. That’s the thing with these designer collections. They look so cool in print, but in person? Not so much.
Of course, we didn’t leave empty handed. We picked up a slashed anchor T-shirt and very cool, drapey navy and white striped tank dress. After all, this may be our only chance to own something from JPG.
Meanwhile, we can dream, right? Here’s a look at Gaultier’s recent collection from Paris Fashion Week. We’re guessing these price tags will run a bit higher than $19.99.
