So, we’re all about celebrating the artistic side of fashion, and, generally, are quite pleased when we see a designer add something avant garde to the runway.
After all, how many models can we take marching down the catwalk with the same dead-eyed gaze, black pumps and slicked-back ponytails to some DJ’s remix of “Poker Face”?
But there’s a fine line between “Wow, that’s cool and different and interesting” and “Oh. My. God. I kind of need to puke right now.”
But the latter is how we felt after checking out German designer Patrick Mohr’s recent showing at Berlin Fashion Week. Bald heads with facial hair — on both female and male models — is not artsy. It’s just icky.
