Beauty Marks: Matthew Morris 5th Anniversary Show
It seriously does not feel like summer is basically over when it’s still 97 degrees at the end of August. But after a few crazy busy months, the kids are finally happily back in school and we’re settling into our regular routines. Did you know having a jam-packed schedule is the new regular? We’re learning.
And, after our recent hiatus, we were more than happy to trade our flip-flops for stilettos and head out to the 5th Anniversary Show celebrating the Matthew Morris Salon. Proceeds from the event go to fund the Matthew Morris Scholarship at Emily Griffith Opportunity School, the salon owner’s alma mater.
Now, we’ve been big fans of Morris for longer than we should probably cop to — you may know him for finishing third on Bravo’s “Shear Genius” reality show hair competition. We know him for waking up our tired tresses and styling some truly amazing fashion shoots back when we worked in print.
And, as in celebrations past, Morris joined forces with uber-talented Colorado fashion designer Gabriel Conroy to offer a gorgeous collection of hair styling and clothing, aptly titled “Black Forest Immortelle,” with just a touch of quirk thrown in — half skeleton painted faces, anyone?
Here’s a look at some of the styles with photos courtesy of Charles Hildreth. Spooky never looked so good.
